Paper Crafts for Children
Mar 29th, 2010 by Craftylocks

New dedicated website

I found that about half of my posts here were focusing on paper crafts for kids, enough so that a new blog is born! Head over to papercraftsforchildren for just that. You may feel like you have not gone far as currently both blogs have the same them – I do like bold colors!

I will continue to add my other crafty ideas here as they get made.

Thanks,

Wire and Bead Necklace
Mar 22nd, 2010 by Craftylocks

Hammered and twisted – not me, my new necklace made at an evening class!

wire-bead_necklaceClasses are fun, you have dedicated time to focus on your craft. At this class we were learning how to use wire in a different way in our beading. We twisted the copper wire into a nest and then threaded beads onto the wire and tied into the nest. We made petal shapes and hammered them flat and attached them to the nest. We hammered some more wire and then twisted that into spirals and attached those too. The result is very ‘free-form’ and each persons necklace was quite different depending on the beads and where they attached the hammered spirals and pendants, and if they attached another bead at the bottom like I have.

A Very Hoppy Bunny Family
Mar 15th, 2010 by Craftylocks

origami-bunnies_smallThese are much easier to make than they look – no tricky folds at all. I have made a tutorial to show all the steps but all you need is a square piece of paper for each member of your bunny family. We will be making lots of these to help Easter Bunny with all those eggs he has to deliver.

To find out how to make these check out the Origami Bunny Tutorial or download the PDF Worksheet – Origami Bunny
Also check out the movie of the origami bunny life story. Have your tissues on hand for the tragic ending.
